One of the exhibitions that took a lot time and effort this year was the CALAMITA/À project exhibition in Cologne during the Photoszene-Festival. Thanks to the support of the Strategia Fotografia Fund, a selection of images of the CALAMITA/À project was produced in 2024. This exhibition (curated by Marina Caneve and Gianpaolo Arena) was shown at four different locations in Italy in 2024 and was now presented in Cologne in 2025. I was responsible for the planning, communication, organisation and exhibition design for the exhibition in Cologne. This also included the complete acquisition of the necessary financial resources, which, thankfully, were provided mainly by the City of Cologne and the Italian Cultural Institute Cologne. The integration into the Photoszene-Festival ensured high visibility for the exhibition during its run. Without public funding, it is not possible for non-commercial projects of this kind to reach an audience. The effort required to obtain this funding has steadily increased in recent years, while funding structures and programmes have declined.
